  3. Love the doll. Is she supposed to be Cynthia Bailey, the former model? If so, I don't see the resemblance, but the doll is nice.

    2. Vanessa,

I just read the message from Cynthia Baily at the Cynthia Bailey Doll website. Since the doll represents the mission of the Bailey School of Fashion, I suppose it does not necessarily need to look like her. It could represent an aspiring fashion model and serve as a 3D representation of the BSOF's mission:

      "A message to my fans…

"I’m elated at the opportunity to work with Stacey McBride-Irby and The One World Doll Project to design a doll that will expand my message and the overall mission of The Bailey Agency School of Fashion to be confident, to feel empowered and to always be inspired. – Cynthia Bailey"

  4. She's an absolute doll! I'm always down with a new natural hair doll. :) Do you have any idea if she's Barbie size or bigger?

    Thanks for the info!

    1. Hi Tracy,

If the company is using the same doll they planned to use in the Prettie Girls line and restyled it as the Cynthia Bailey doll, I believe the doll is Barbie sized. Hopefully they will update their website with additional information by October 14th when "pre-sales" commence.

  6. Hmm...I think I just confused myself more when I read the article. I'm unclear about this doll you have posted and the look of the Prettie Girlz dolls. This doll you blogged about, do you know if she's the collectors doll or will her look be included a with th Prettie Girlz? Or, will her look and another group of dolls (not yet visible) be considered the collectors edition while the Prettie Girlz remain the classic/basic edition? LOL, I'm so confused ....

    1. LOL... the company really has some explaining to do. Not providing all a doll's vitals really leaves collectors hanging. I can only share what they have shared and add what I think. I've shared what they have shared thus far (at least all that I know that they have shared). What I think is the doll shown on the website in the black faux leather jacket with Afro is the special edition Cynthia Bailey doll. I believe there will be another Cynthia Bailey doll dressed differently and she may look like the doll seen at the following link. Again, I am just speculating, but I don't think the other Prettie Girls are considered the classic dolls. They are just Prettie Girls while the two versions of the Cynthia Bailey dolls are extensions of the line.

Let's hope everything is clarified by the company soon!

  8. That's a huge price, but if the quality in the photos is the same in person, it might be worth it. (The $34.95 price, not that $69.95)

  9. Sandy - Roxanne: You're welcome. I love sharing new-doll info. I hope this doll and the others make it to market soon.

Muff - The price is much more than expected. Let's hope the quality exceeds the price.

    1. I wanted to share my email conversation with the company about clarification on the mold of the Collectors doll vs the "Classic Edition." I will post it below my comment. I'm still confused based on the response sent to me because as Vanessa pointed out the doll looks nothing like Cynthia but per the company, it's supposed to be made in her likeness. :/. I wanted clarification because of the price. I mean, I can live without signatures, it's the mold, hair and possibly the clothing I was interested in. Anyway, here goes the really...

      Tracy,

The "Classic" edition for $39.95 is the same doll, same look, but NO SIGNATURE.

Once again, our celebrity partnerships (i.e., Cynthia Bailey) will always fall under the umbrella of the Prettie Girls! Brand, but are completely separate from the 5 Mullti-cultural dolls in the Prettie Girls! Doll Line.

The look of Cynthia's doll is of course different because it is in her likeness.

If you have any further questions, please let me know or refer to the original email. I hope this has cleared up any confusion for you.

    2. Thanks for sharing this Tracy. You're probably still confused because the doll is not a portrait doll of Cynthia Bailey. The only similarities in the doll and Ms. Bailey in my opinion are name, hairstyle, which Bailey wears from time to time, and of course the doll's fashion sense, which Bailey exudes.

Since you do not care about the signed certificate, it's a good idea for you to wait and purchase the non-signature version of the Cynthia Bailey doll.

The other five Prettie Girls are separate, but with my trained eye, appear to all use the same mold as the Bailey doll; but I ordered the signature Bailey version anyway, because I wanted it; not because I believe it looks like Bailey, because it doesn't, except for the features I mentioned.

      Thanks again for sharing!
