Two More Princesses

Naija Princesses Chinyere and Temilola

After Naija Princess Aisha arrived, I wanted to add the other two princess dolls to the doll family.  The US merchant, SlicebyCake.com recently informed me that new stock was available so I hurried to the website to make my selections.  I ordered two additional princess dolls without knowing which was which because they were not listed by name.

Chinyere's packaged extra fashion and separately packaged red high-heel shoes are shown above.

Chinyere's casual fashion is a red and white gingham skirt and red halter as shown on the back of box.

After their arrival, I was pleased, however, to be able to identify one as Chinyere by her extra red and white gingham fashion (as illustrated on the back of the box).  I have elected to name the other one Temilola, since that is the only other available manufacturer-given name.  Temilola, priced $4 less than Chinyere, did not come with an extra fashion.

Both have multiple braids pulled up into a ponytail.

Both dolls have multiple braids pulled up into a ponytail.  Chinyere has bronze highlights; the ends of her ponytail are straight. Temilola has curled ends.

Queens of Africa poster and two copies of issue one of Queens of Africa soft cover book

In addition to the dolls, I received a Queens of Africa poster and two copies of issue one of the Queens of Africa soft cover book.

I now have a total of 7 dolls, a combination of queens and princesses, three issue one books and the poster.

  1. They are beautiful! So many to choose from. The ones with the microbraids are the most limited, it seems. It was nice to see such variety in hairstyles and fabric on the clothes.

    1. With each new shipment she receives a variety of dolls. The ones with the braided hairstyles do sell out first. I was glad to be able to purchase these two to complete the three-doll set of Aisha, Temilola, and Chinyere.

I purchased the three-doll set of Queens of Africa last year.

  2. I like the braided version, but the Big Puff version on the website is a favorite as well.

    1. The Big Puff was an option, but I opted to get two braided styles. The Big Puff just looked like straight hair pulled back with the big puff ends slightly curled in the close-up photos that I requested. Had the puff been an actual puff as in Afro puff, I would have purchased one of those.

  3. I love the hair on these two - and the variety of hairstyles that they have for this line overall as well.

The profile photo makes me wonder how thickly rooted the hair is though, so I wonder how they look if the ponytails are taken down...

    1. Yes, jSarie, the different hairstyles are nice but there isn't must versatility above the way the hair is styled because the strands are not closely rooted. If I were to free the ponytails, bare scalp would probably be exposed.

    2. Ah, too bad. That's what I was afraid of - at least the hair looks good as-is though!
