I have saved or scanned articles of interest from doll magazines with a file drawer filled with these.

You're right about doll magazines these days; there are really none that offer much of interest. Now that Doll Reader and Dolls have merged, Dolls is better than it was in prior years. For now, I will maintain my digital subscription to Dolls (it's only $10 a year for 12 issues).

dbgBlack Doll Enthusiasthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07534871309015210903noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6047557606653771556.post-42679763707536247162012-06-13T06:07:26.487-05:002012-06-13T06:07:26.487-05:00Interesting to look back and see dolls that intere...Interesting to look back and see dolls that interested and not so much interested you. I have all my Barbie Bazaar & some Miller's magazines. I'm going through those in stages but removing the articles I want to keep and getting rid of the rest.

I love reading through my old magazines since there is really no new doll magazine out there that interests me.Dollz4Moihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18386314679264566475noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6047557606653771556.post-40688672407550064572012-06-12T14:12:59.596-05:002012-06-12T14:12:59.596-05:00LOL!

My interest in her is not $27 and some change steep, however.

dbgBlack Doll Enthusiasthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07534871309015210903noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6047557606653771556.post-65684045251269375532012-06-12T09:34:19.416-05:002012-06-12T09:34:19.416-05:00Hi D7ana,

She seems to be the only sculpt used without severe modifications. The others needed improving, in my opinion.

This is a good question to pose to Ms. Goodland as well as what ever happened to the new Mixis that were planned for 2009/2010 release.

dbgBlack Doll Enthusiasthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07534871309015210903noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6047557606653771556.post-46676927465366784532012-06-12T09:25:57.824-05:002012-06-12T09:25:57.824-05:00BTW, I hope you find Imani at a good price. I remember seeing the God's Girlz by Kerusso, but they reminded me of cheaper My Scene dolls so I passed on them.D7anahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15497306465109590188noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6047557606653771556.post-16596247274982202912012-06-12T09:22:36.886-05:002012-06-12T09:22:36.886-05:00Oops meant to type "YNU Group."Oops meant to type "YNU Group."D7anahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15497306465109590188noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6047557606653771556.post-9934434147414533402012-06-12T09:18:38.263-05:002012-06-12T09:18:38.263-05:00Thanks for this post, Debbie!
Yes, Younique Gemz ...Thanks for this post, Debbie!

Yes, Younique Gemz seems to have been the first name of the doll series we now know as the Mixis. When I first looked into the Mixis dolls, I came across that name and those photos. YBU Group released information about the Younique Gemz line in February 2006. The Emerald shown in your photo resembles the Emerald that we have today except around the eye screening and the hair style. I don't know if any of the dolls were sold under the Younique Gems dolls. That would be an interesting question to ask Ms. Goodland and the WLBD Group.D7anahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15497306465109590188noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6047557606653771556.post-57925332410158615592012-06-12T06:06:18.984-05:002012-06-12T06:06:18.984-05:00Thanks, Vanessa. Imani will surface in due time, if it is meant to be.

I usually have some form of reading material in bed with me, and doll magazines are no exception. I realize I do not need all of the ones I have accumulated. I have been pleased to discover that they will be of use to others globally. Yesterday one went to Germany and four went to New Zealand to a repeat buyer. It has been nice to refresh my memory on the past articles and images as I browse through, but one refresher is enough. They must go. I have approximately 35 more to list either individually or in groups. Lots of work... but I will do it, a little at a time.

dbgBlack Doll Enthusiasthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07534871309015210903noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6047557606653771556.post-21302164470404054002012-06-12T05:00:03.286-05:002012-06-12T05:00:03.286-05:00Doll magazines are hard for me to part with. I vaguely remember seeing something about the Keeping It Real dolls. Their faces kind of remind me of the MyScene dolls. Hope you find an Imani at a good price.Vanessahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09027064808344974667noreply@blogger.com
