Thanks for informing me.

For a while I was buying action figures to pair up with my fashion dolls. I chose non - GI Joes, because Joes are too short. Most of mine are World Peacekeepers. A couple of Integrity Toys guys have also entered the collection, but only a few. You can search this blog for World Peacekeepers, WPK or action figures for past posts about them.

And yes, while most men who collect action figures do not refer to them as dolls, in my opinion, they are. A doll is a doll is a doll.Black Doll Enthusiasthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07534871309015210903noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6047557606653771556.post-53641712970323647662017-11-14T00:05:05.643-06:002017-11-14T00:05:05.643-06:00I never realised they had the same holiday date, i...I never realised they had the same holiday date, isn’t that stoopid. Ours isn’t a holiday in November we have ANZAC Day which is a public holiday April 25th which Commemorates the landing at Gallipoli in Turkey by Allied soldiers again in WWI. I loved the GI Joes as representing the story. I have never been a big male doll collector but have to admit that I still have my Action Man (UK release of the original 12” GI Joe) and really want to build up a better collection as they’re really detailed and articulated dolls that really are little action men (not sure male collectors call them dolls...?!).Julius Maloneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08006134062866647709noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6047557606653771556.post-74860335073918296742017-11-13T17:48:17.036-06:002017-11-13T17:48:17.036-06:00Thanks, Julius. After finding my son's GI Joes, I thought they would be perfect to record his experience.

The US Celebrates Veteran's Day annually (all day) on November 11 for the same reason as Australia:

"Veterans Day in the United States. In the USA, Veterans Day annually falls on November 11. This day is the anniversary of the signing of the armistice, which ended the World War I hostilities between the Allied nations and Germany in 1918."

dbgBlack Doll Enthusiasthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07534871309015210903noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6047557606653771556.post-82122630529602033062017-11-13T16:40:16.055-06:002017-11-13T16:40:16.055-06:00What an amazing story. I’m so glad both your brothers came home safely as these soughts of battlefield stories of voices and warnings are often told. As someone wrote every day should be Veteren’s Day (here in Oz we celebrate Remembrance Day on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month which comes from the armistice being signed in WWI) considering the sacrifice displayed by so many to protect the freedoms we enjoy today.
