Texas A&M Ken Voucher Purchases

As reported last week on my Dolls for Sale blog, Target had an all-Barbie-toys sale of buy one at regular price and get one for 50% off.  With the $28 voucher received from Mattel to reimburse me for the flawed, irreplaceable Texas A&M Ken, I purchased the following Barbie items (click or tap images to enlarge).

Pink and white gingham blouse, denim skirt; two sun dresses; pink high heels, white high heels, faux straw handbag; retail price $12.99

Two fancy dresses with matching shoes and handbags, retail price $4.99 each

Regular price $12.99, includes two dresses, halter top and pants, tan purse, necklace, two pairs of shoes and a pink coffee cup

Two dresses, regular price $3.49 each

With the BOGO 50% off sale, these totaled $32.19.  After redeeming the voucher, my total was $4.19.

Thanks Texas A&M Ken.  Your flaws and Mattel's reimbursement allowed me to add these nice fashions and accessories to your girlfriend's friends' wardrobe.

Will She Look Like Thelma?

Will she look like Thelma? refers to the doll the One World Doll Project plans to release in December 2013.  This news was obtained from the Angelic Dreamz website (scroll down at their site to the graphics below McBride-Irby's image/text)

According to AD, the second doll in OWDP's celebrity doll line will be Thelma, the 1970s Good Times character played by actress Bern Nadette Stanis

This second doll is good news, but I hope it has a unique head sculpt, one that actually looks like "Thelma."

(The first celebrity doll by OWDP was inspired by model/reality star Cynthia Bailey, now to be released during the second week of December 2013 instead of February 2014.)

Who's That Lady?

Who's that lady? Who's that lady?
Beautiful lady, who's that lady?
Lovely lady, who's that lady?
Real fine lady, who's that lady?

Hear me callin' out to you
'Cause it's all that I can do
Your eyes tell me to pursue
But you say look yeah but don't touch, baby
Nah, nah, nah don't touch

Who's that lady? Who's that lady?
Sexy lady, who's that lady?
Beautiful lady, who's that lady?
Real fine lady, who's that lady?

I would dance upon a string
Any gift she'd wanna bring
I would give her anything
If she would just do what I say
Come 'round my way baby, shine my way

Who's that lady? Who's that lady?
Beautiful lady, who's that lady?
Lovely lady, who's that lady?
Real fine lady, who's that lady?
I would love to take her home
But her heart is made of stone
I would keep on keepin' on
If I don't she'll do me wrong
Do me wrong, yeah

Prettie Girls Lena is styling and profiling.

This lady is Prettie Girls Lena wearing a Stardoll by Barbie dress and shoes.  The shoes fit!

I was determined to find Lena something to wear to show off her lovely curves.  Her high-waist pants don't do her body justice.

Lena tried on several Barbie dresses and dresses made for Barbie that did fit her, but her 1-inch feet are too long and too wide for any shoes on hand that coordinate with the dresses she can wear.

Then I remembered the one Stardoll fashion that Kayla (with a LIV body) was wearing.  It fits Lena like it was made for her probably because of the stretch fabric of the dress.*

Doesn't she look fab-u-lous?  Lena's "business girl who loves red" persona remains intact.

*I am not certain that other Stardoll fashions will fit Lena or the other Prettie Girls.  I no longer have my Stardoll to measure that doll's hip circumference to compare with Lena's.  Getting fashions to accommodate Lena's lower curves will be tricky if the fabric does not stretch, but her breasts and waist are average (actually her breasts are small).

I hope separates with fashionable shoes are forthcoming from The One World Doll Project for the Prettie Girls dolls.  Lena's body craves leggings and other form fitting fashions.  Do be aware that her molded-on panties have a ridged edge, which shows like a true pantie-line through form fitting clothes.
