Reese makes the third doll in the past few weeks to arrive with issues. Maybe I need to slow my doll buying "role" for a while.

PS After several hours of waiting to hear from the merchant, I decided to contact Integrity since they offer a one-year limited warranty on this doll. I sent the following note and must wait 3-5 days to hear from their "Patient Care" department:
"I purchased from one of your authorized merchants and received Dynamite Girls Boogie Beach Reese. The doll's left leg fell off due to a defective ball and joint mechanism, which split in half. One half of the ball is in the upper leg. The other half is in the lower leg. The two parts cannot be put back together because the upper half appears to have been inserted incorrectly at the factory."
Their website states they will not provide return postage and I have to provide clear JPEG photos of the damage for them to determine if repair or replacement is necessary. If the doll requires replacement (and she does), I will have to DESTROY it and provide pictures as proof that it has been destroyed.
I hope this story has a happy ending.
That's a pity about her leg falling off like that. Otherwise, she is a stunner. Congrats on getting her - I hope that they provide an exchange soon.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
Will you be getting any of the ITBE dolls? There are three AA dolls in that series.
Dana under the if I can't get, I'll see that others do so that I can see gorgeous photos zone
Oh oh! I missed the bit about destroying the original doll. Me, I'd be whining about how I wanted the original doll's head on a new body, no I could NOT destroy the old body. Whine, whine, whine.
ReplyDeleteThanks, D! I hope so, too.
ReplyDeleteNo, I'm not getting any of the ITBE dolls. They're not jointed. I'm hooked on properly working joints.
:-)
I hope I'm not required to destroy the doll... that will be almost as painful as witnessing her leg fall off. Geesh!
ReplyDeleteI hope this gets resolved soon Debbie, and that the old doll does not have to be destroyed!
ReplyDeleteAHHHHHHHHH, I would have just die! No joke! I hope she gets fixs so and I know when I get some money I ordering Reese so my other Reese with the red hair can have a Sister!
ReplyDeleteHi, I'm new to the blog and I was wondering what happened with the DG BB Reese doll? I have DG BB TJ and I'd like to purchase AA Heartbreaker TJ but I'm not sure I want to spend the money if these dolls are cheaply made. Have you had many problems with the DG dolls bodies? How long (in your opinion) can these dolls last and hold up to adult play? I use my dolls in story lines, posing for pics, etc. but I haven't done a whole lot just yet. Anyway, any information you can give would be appreciated. Thanks. :)
ReplyDeleteWelcome Afroindia619! The DG BB Reese doll was eventually replaced by the merchant and I have not had any problems with the replacement doll. The dolls are not at all cheaply made. I just happened to receive a defective one.
ReplyDeleteI do not actively play with my dolls, but I do position and reposition them from time to time. I believe they will withstand adult play.
If you're still on the fence, you might want to purchase one or more of the discounted DG at Integrity Direct to examine for quality.
Here's the direct link.
I hope this helps!
