Thanksgiving Eve at Target, while browsing the toy aisle, I found and purchased this additional head for Barbie Fashionistas Swappin' Styles Artsy. Regularly priced $4.99, it rang up a dollar less with their in-store discount. I have not deboxed it or tried it out, but thought I'd give a quick share that an additional head for Artsy does exist.

DBG, is it just me or does it seem weird to have a swappable head when there is no other doll matching that doll's complexion? I'm glad that Artsy was included, but I think it would have been fitting to have another doll that complexion to "swap" bodies with. Maybe a "Christie" or "Nikki" with a different swappable face. Then again, maybe the child/collector/other might have "lost" the "original" Artsy head?
ReplyDeleteNo, it's not just you, D7ana. It would have been much better for Mattel to use a different head sculpt for Artsy's swappable head. The eyeshadow, hairstyle, and hair accessory are the only differences in the two heads.

Thanks, Debbie, for your response.
ReplyDeleteI mean there are other Mattel series where there is no AA doll. (And there could have been one ...) This is one time when they could have done without an AA doll since they don't seem likely to make another AA doll to actually swap heads with.
Shrug.
Artsy was my first pic when I first saw this line! I love her! I wonder why she is the only one that is artsy? Why can't she be cutie? Or sassy too? In all the lines all the girls are stuck in there rolls. I have been putting my pink sassy head on artsys body and it seems to go the best! Anyways I love your site! Xoxo wanna be a fashionistas?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the visit and the compliment on my blog "Artsy Cutie boy ssay cutie Ken."
