Video and Links to Images of Actual Prettie Girls! OWP

Update!

Images of the actual Prettie Girls! OWP dolls are, in fact, on their website (Lena, Valencia, Dahlia, Kimani AND the 2012 Obama Doll, Sophia!)  Click each girl's name to view the actual doll and read her bio.  Okay, here's the link!

I'm looking forward to seeing the Prettie Girls! OWP sketches transformed into vinyl.

  1. They are everything I had hoped they would be. Very nice.

  2. Yes, they appear very nice and articulated, too.

  3. So nice to see they are progressing well with the project. Good to see the articulation. I hope they have plans to improve the articulation in time. I think they will need bendy wrists eventually. With the different skin tones, if they do a really nice articulated body, I imagine people will buy the dolls for body swaps as well. It would be nice to have a company that also sells just bodies. There is a huge market for that and no one has tapped into it yet.

  4. Wrist articulation would be nice, but I'm happy the elbows and knees are articulated. I don't want them to look like action figures, so unless the wrist articulation is done where the joint is not exposed, I'm okay with them the way they are. Here's hoping for sturdy joints, too. I want them pose-able but with the ability to hold a pose.

  5. The reason I say that about the articulation is because I discovered that most doll people switched out the articulated SIS bodies with articulated fashionista bodies, just because of the wrists. I am now in the process of switching out some of those same articulated bodies because I need wrist action. So I don't want the same thing to happen with these dolls. They should strive to make articulated bodies that people want to use on other dolls too, not the other way around. Wrist articulation is key for those of us who do dios and stories and even for great realistic posing (hands on hips, etc).

  6. Thanks for this update, DBG!

Do you remember when the Sophia dolls go out? I'm getting the one in jeans (naturlly, lol). Thanks in advance.

  7. Argh! I meant to type "naturally," but made a typo. After 9PM my witching hour, lol.

  8. Hi D7ana,

According to the separate website for ordering Sophia, "Dolls will ship on December 1, 2011." I hope the shipping is as scheduled, if not sooner.

    :-)
