Will She Look Like Thelma?

Will she look like Thelma? refers to the doll the One World Doll Project plans to release in December 2013.  This news was obtained from the Angelic Dreamz website (scroll down at their site to the graphics below McBride-Irby's image/text)

According to AD, the second doll in OWDP's celebrity doll line will be Thelma, the 1970s Good Times character played by actress Bern Nadette Stanis

This second doll is good news, but I hope it has a unique head sculpt, one that actually looks like "Thelma."

(The first celebrity doll by OWDP was inspired by model/reality star Cynthia Bailey, now to be released during the second week of December 2013 instead of February 2014.)

  1. That's awesome she's getting a doll made after her. She's an icon, in my opinion. Thank you for including the link to view/purchase the other Prettie Girls. I must say, I'm disappointed in the recent pictures of the Cynthia Bailey doll. The photos look very different from the first promo photos and her hair looks cheap. I guess my wallet is happy but I was hoping to like her enough to purchase, lol. So far, I still like Valencia and now I'm digging Alexis ( I think that's her name). I will definitely wait and see photos from fellow doll collectors before I purchase but I'm glad you have hipped us to these girls.

    1. Bern Nadette Stanis is definitely an icon and is long overdue for a doll. I can think of numerous celebrities (Janet Jackson and others) that I would love to see in doll form, but I would like for the dolls to look like them, not be representations in name and fashions only.

Here's hoping the Cynthia Bailey doll will look better than expected in person. So far, I still like what I see, even through the doll is not a true portrait of Bailey.

  2. Ah, okay! I read D7ana's post wrong. I thought the doll was based on the actress, not the character. Now I wanna see it!

  3. Good Morning, If the pic posted is a sneak peek I am bold enough to say they bombed it lol. Just looking at the eyes it doesnt favor her. This will be very interesting to see how and if they are able to create realistic features.
