Thank You, Brini's Doll Domain!

Carefully boxed and wrapped winnings from Brini's Doll Domain Giveaway #3

For her talent and generosity, I must take the time to thank Brini of Brini's Doll Domain.

In December, Brini posted a series of three 2013 doll accessory giveaways.  I entered each with high hopes of winning at least one (okay, I admit I wanted to win all three).  By default, since the winner of Giveaway #3 did not claim the prize of two knit hats and scarves and two knit purses, I won!

Contents of the boxed items:  beautifully hand-knitted hat and scarf sets and two purses (a shoulder bag and a clutch that has a gold tone filigree embellishment)
Janay volunteered to model these lovely items for you.

This lovely rust-colored clutch goes well with Janay's fashion as does the beige knit shoulder bag shown below:

Janay says she doesn't just want to be the model of these purses; she wants to own them exclusively.  I have counseled her on her self-centered attitude and encouraged her to share.  After all, she can only carry one of these purses at a time.
Even though most people would not wear this purple hat and scarf with shorts and open-toe heels, Janay says she is a fashion model; she can mix summer and winter clothing if she so chooses because she looks fabulous in everything she wears.  (Okay, Ms. Janay.)

After seeing Janay in the burgundy hat and scarf, (which looks brighter in the image above than it actually is), Janay's fashion sense had me convinced.  She can wear and "werk" well whatever she places on her body.  For her willingness to model my winnings, I allowed Janay to continue wearing this hat and scarf set.

After retrieving my winnings from the post office, where I opened the box in the lobby, I was shocked to discover a large, tissue-paper wrapped package in the box.  I rushed home to get the unopened items photographed before opening to reveal the contents of each.  I was extremely surprised to find that Brini sent something for the largest doll here:  Me!

This beautiful earth tone colored fashion scarf can be worn a number of ways.  Above, I have it simply draped around my neck.  In addition to the color, I love the delicate ruffled edges.
In this photo, it is double draped to provide more fashionable warmth to my chest area on brisk days like we have experienced lately.  Incidentally, I have a gray knit cap with a knit flower on the side that matches this scarf perfectly.  So like the inanimate dolls, I have a matching hat and scarf set, too.

Thank you, again, Brini for the extent of your generosity.  I never imagined that in addition to winning doll items, I would receive something, too.  I will always think of you when I wear my beautiful ruffled, hand-knit (with love, I am sure) scarf.   Thank you, thank you, thank you!

  6. You truly are a doll! When I first discovered your blog and book I was so JEALOUS of the dolls that you have acquired and they all looked liked me!! All I ever wanted was a room full off black doll and by God's grace you are blessed with a house full!! If you remember when I first started blogging you left the most valuable advice for me. You stated how important it was to identify my dolls and I thank you so much for that. I do get thank you emails and I always think of you!! I'm so glad you like them and yes, Ms. Janay is definitely the perfect model. I'm very happy you like your scarf and thank you so much for the card too, I'm going to work that into one of my storylines!

    1. Hi Brini,

I don't remember leaving that advice on your blog, but I always enjoy reading your posts about newly acquired dolls where you describe them in documentation style.

I do love everything! Ms. Janay sends a huge thanks your way.

My mother loves my scarf. She wanted to know where I got it and was very impressed when I told her it was handmade. She said, "You know some talented people."
