Now wouldn't that be nice? We could send in pictures of ourselves and Stacey or other doll designer could fashion a doll in our likeness (or as close to it as possible).
That was really cool. And they did a good job of making the dolls resemble each of the ladies. Do you remember the "My Twin" dolls? the concept behind those was that you would send in a picture of your child and they would make one to look like your child. They were a bit larger than American Girls dolls. I wouldn't mind having the dolls that they made for these ladies available on the market!
Yes, I remember the My Twinn dolls (why just yesterday). :-) I own 14 of the 23-inch dolls and after seeing the sale on the new 18-inch My Twinn Friend dolls ($39) yesterday, I ordered one in honor of my friend who passed recently. The 18-inch doll will represent her as she was at around age 6.
I hope the heads and bodies on the 18-inch My Twinns are not as disproportionate as they appear online. I guess I could always rebody the doll if I am not pleased.
The customized dolls are SO CUTE. Love-love-love the cries of "she's got my butt" from Loni Love. My fave is probably the Tamar Braxton doll, but they're all gorgeous.
I did not catch the show, so I appreciate you posting this. If there was a plus size Prettie Girl on the market, I'd buy her in a heartbeat! All of the customized dolls were lovely.
Thank you for sharing this video, it was SO COOL!!! The dolls are amazing, and I loved the fashions and shoes too! And the details, like the earrings on the last doll!
You're welcome, Night Owl. I am glad someone shared the link in a doll group that I am a member of and that I was able to share it here. I knew it would be well received.
I missed that show, so thanks for posting. I wasn't expecting each doll to be so customized, so what a great surprise! Hopefully this translated to lots more sales of the regular dolls.
I hope this boosted doll sales, too, Vanessa. I am sure it helps that the dolls are available at Walmart.com and other areas online. I haven't seen them in stores here yet, but I am sure that is forthcoming. Looking forward to more accessories and fashions for the dolls and hopefully a male or two.
That was so great! I really loved the plus sized doll! I want a Ms. Leo Pretty Girl!

Cute! Fun to watch. Looked like one of the portrait dolls had an open mouth.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!
A paint illusion is probably why it appeared that one of the dolls had an open mouth. Stacey is very talented.

Very cute. Those doll fashions appeared to be high quality. I'd probably purchase one of each if they were on the market.
ReplyDeleteAG Lanc,
DeleteThe fashions did appear nice and identical to those worn by the show hosts. I cannot say it enough: Stacey is extremely talented.

ReplyDeleteThe ladies all seemed very excited. What an honor to have a doll made or designed in your image.

ReplyDeleteStacey may have to add a plus sized doll to the Prettie Girls line. I think that's an underserved market.
