Vivica A. Fox Prettie Girls! Collectors Doll

Vivica A. Fox Prettie Girls! Collectors Doll, photograph courtesy of Stacey McBride (OWDP)

On January 15, 2015, One World Doll Project, Inc., unveiled their plan to release their first collectors doll for 2015, the Vivica A. Fox Prettie Girls! Collectors Doll (shown above).  The doll, like all dolls in their line, is designed by Stacey McBride.  Stunningly gorgeous with an almost exact likeness to Ms. Fox is how I "see" the Vivica A. Fox Prettie Girls! Doll prototype.

Excited, I signed up for future updates on the doll here.

The company's full announcement can be read here.

  1. She is pretty! Thanks for the info Debbie. She is a must have especially after I was able to get Cynthia Bailey. I hope the price is good.

    Happy Friday!

  2. Hi Debbie, this doll is so beautiful, I love the expression on her face! I hope the hair of the actual doll will be the same as on this prototype, it's gorgeous :-)!

  4. This is great news! It is nice to have Black dolls done to resemble Black actresses done by a Black company! Hopefully more celebrities will join the bandwagon. Hint, hint....Oprah, Alfre Woodard and Jada Pinkett Smith!

  5. Thanks for the heads up! She looks nice! I hope she is at a good price too, but I suspect she will be priced closer to the Cynthia Bailey price level since they are calling this doll a celebrity collectible. I wouldn't mind seeing them produce the dolls they did for the ladies on "The Real" and making them available too.

    1. (I thought I replied to your comment several days ago, Phyllis, but I guess Blogger was having one of its moments.)

I think the price for the Vivica A. Fox Prettie Girls! doll will probably be comparable to that of the Cynthia Bailey Collectors Doll.

Dolls fashioned after The Real show hosts would be nice to see!

  6. Wow! She's a must have for sure. I passed on all the Prettie Girls (regretfully) but I love me some Vivica so I will not pass on her. Thanks for posting! :-)

  8. I look forward to the production doll. It will be great if it looks just like the prototype. Sadly the Cynthia Bailey doll did not. I still bought her, though.

  10. In the blurb on the site how can they forget Vivica's iconic turn in Tarantino's "Kill Bill" I love that this company is highlighting some fab ladies!

    1. Well, Julius, since I haven't seen Kill Bill, I had to watch Vivica's performance in the movie on Youtube.

      Wow!

    2. I loved Vivica in the film (especially the fight scene between Fox & Uma Thurman). It is super violent and a certain discression may be required but in her filmography its a fabulous turn. It was the film that got Tarantino back in fashion. Also in my previous post I did mean to introduce myself and say "long time reader, first time poster" (or some such). But love the blog! :)

  11. You go, Stacy. I like the direction she's taking with the celebrity dolls. That's a really good likeness of Vivica. I love the hair. I'm with all of you guys on the male dolls, especially Idris and Boris. And I wouldn't mind a better likeness doll of Denzel. I almost think that she would get a ton of support for the male dolls. I know I would be buying without hesitation.

    1. I love the direction she is taking with celebrity dolls, Vanessa. There is definitely a market for more portraits in doll form, particularly of African Americans and other people of color. Licensing issues aside, I believe Stacey could corner this underserved market with her talent and expertise in the doll industry.

  12. Hi DBG! Do you know if this doll will be produced? Do you know if they've sold the prototype for her? Thanks for your response.

    1. Hi D7ana - I asked about the doll recently and was told it will not be produced. I did not ask about the prototype, but I doubt that it will be sold.
