Kenya is back, just in time for Christmas 2016! |
The little 13-inch doll that hit the doll market in 1992 as one of the first, if not the first, dolls in her size, produced in three skin tones with hair-styling lotion for loads of hair-styling fun, has returned to the market. Read about the relaunch of Kenya Growing Up Proud and her friends in two Ebony of Essence Dolls in Black blog posts, here and here.
Welcome back, Kenya!

I prefer the Barbie-scale Kenyas. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing, D7ana. The target market, little girls and parents of little girls, will appreciate knowing about Kenya's return.

All the size options are great. The 13inch one is perfectly sized for little girls like the Welly-Wishers but I like the 11 inch tween doll.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't find that option on the site or at ToysRUs.com, though. It must have sold out already with Christmas being this week.
Thanks for telling us about the line's return.
Toys R Us Express, according to Ruth sells it (not the online store or the regular stores). Is there a TRU Express in your area, Maricha?

I checked and there isn't one anymore (it closed), only a couple of regular ones. All the other retailers that carry the line are only in the US.
DeleteI''m sorry TRU Express is closed in your area. The other retailers are all US based. Hooefully the website will add additional buy links soon and offer international shipping.

That would be great but I have no doubt resellers will soon be offering them up on eBay. I checked but the Kenya dolls available there now aren't the Kenya dolls I saw on the site at all. I saved the search so the right ones are bound to appear at some point. :-)
DeleteI will keep you informed of the Tweens' availability.
