Will these fashions/dolls be mass produced or are they one-of-a-kind teasers? They are for now, but who knows what the future holds. Read about the inspiration for these upscale fashions designed by Beyoncé's stylist, Marni Senofonte, in a collaboration with Mattel and see the entire collection as well as sketches by Carlyle Nuera here and even better photos here.
I will keep my fingers crossed for more than one of each.

Wow! Keeping my fingers crossed too:-)
ReplyDeleteI particularly like the doll with long braids and the one with the blue cape.
Maybe these will be in the Barbie Collector line. These wouldn't be too high fashion for the original Barbie but I don't see the current play line dolls being this stylish.
Thanks for the information and the links.
I like those two fashions, too. There are several that I like.
DeleteThese would definitely fit the Barbie Collector line and not the pink box line.

Thanks for the info! I'd love to see these go into production. Hmmmmm, do I see a curvy lady with articulation? These would be nice to see.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't tell if one of the curvy ones is articulated. I do love the sculpt of the one with braids. I cannot tell if the doll is a repaint or a new sculpt, but I do love the luscious lips!

Whoa. How nice! Love all the fashions and most of the dolls. I really like the petite lady with the long black hair.
ReplyDeleteThe petite with the long black hair is my favorite, too, Vanessa. I wonder if she's a repaint.

These dolls are amazing!! I'm a big fan of the girl with braids & the Afro but they're all pretty cool. I did see these on Instagram but I'm aways a little disappointed when you find out that they're so often one offs...Does anyone remember Billy Boy's Theatre de la Mode in the mid 80s where he asked designers to create one off styles for Barbie and also produced a rather glamorous book about Barbie? These remind me of those. I just wish these and so many of the fashions and accessories uploaded to the Barbie Style account in any way filtered through to the play line fashions...dang I'd even pay a extra for more premium Barbie fashions...again a Fashion doll without fashions is just ugh. :/
ReplyDeleteYes, they are amazing! I don't remember Billy Boy's Theatre de la Mode, but his wish has come true. It does nothing for my desire to own these, however, if they are truly OOAK, and I suspect they are. Nice eye candy, however.
DeleteA fashion doll is nothing without fashions. Absolutely nothing.
