TrueType "Obama" Meets #10

I restyled the above doll's hair, the actual length of which is below her waist.  Next, I redressed her in several casual fashions, and paired her with my TrueType African American (Obama) action figure.  In the above photo, the mystery doll is wearing Alexis's (LIV) top and jeans (minus the sweater) and Artsy's (Fashionistas) shoulder bag and boots.

Barbie Basics Collection 001, Model 10 is the mystery doll.

Artsy's trendy boots and shoulder bag were exchanged for Alexis's more conservative boots and handbag.

Next,  she tried on Barbie's denim jacket with pink faux fur trim and pink corduroy pants.  She's wearing boots from another Barbie fashion.

For now she has settled on wearing yet another Barbie fashion: multicolored top, denim capris, and brown heels.  This outfit came with a flower watering can, not shown.

Which casual outfit do you think the First Lady would wear?

  3. They are looking every bit like Barack and Michelle just casually hanging out at Martha's Vineyard. LOL

  5. I like her best with the Alexis's outfit with conservative boots and handbag. It look more like her style to me.

  6. I'm partial to the first one. Your Model 10 looks really nice. I can't seem to bond with mine. She looks nice with the shorter hair, but my fear is I still won't bond with mine after cutting her hair. I think she's headed to the sale page. But I will take another look at her today. Just maybe....

    1. I like the first fashion the best, too, Vanessa.

Sorry you were not able to bond with her. Do you still have her original dress? There was some controversy over the low cut of the dress. I think Mattel reissued the doll with a less revealing neckline.

The slightest bit of doll controversy usually causes a demand for the item.

    2. She's not NRFB. Her dress was worn by the waitress in the last Den photostory. There were actually three dresses for this doll. The first one was really low cut. The second one, which I think I have, was low cut, too, but not as much as the first one. The third one was more modest. I didn't know there were 3 until a few months ago when I read it on someone's blog and they had pictures. That first one was a little risque.

    3. I didn't know Model 10 in this Basics release had three dresses! Wow. I have two of the first dress style. I think I purchased the second after I redressed the first. The other is still NRFB.

I'll have to try to locate the blog that documents the three different dress versions.

My loose doll is actually wearing the first dress again now; still displayed with TrueType Obama, but I made her a red "dickie" to match her "husband's" tie.
