Is That Michael Jordan?

Michael Jordan by Head Play

After seeing his head successfully attached to his TTL Toys T2.0C dark brown body, fully dressed, and standing on my desk, my husband asked, "Is that Michael Jordan?"

"Yes."  I replied.

"Michael doesn't wear jeans."  He said.  "He wears slacks and T-shirts... Hanes."

"Well, he does now."  I replied.

I had already ordered his separates from Old Joe Infirmary (OJI) before I saw Roxanne's Head Play Michael Jordan, which prompted the purchase of mine.  He bears a remarkable resemblance to the real Michael Jordan as evidenced by my husband's ability to immediate recognize who he represents.

For 24-hours, Michael remained on my desk donning the royal blue turtleneck*, plaid shirt, blue denim jeans, and black boots.  The more I looked at him, however, I realized the lumbar jack-looking outfit was just not working.  This prompted the following fashion swap.

After switching clothes with Tyr Anasazi, Michael now wears a gray dress shirt, black denim jeans, and black oxfords.  I think he looks much better and the other ensemble works well for Tyr.  BB 2.5 (Model 8) agrees.

Husband, however, after doing a double-take at Michael's new attire commented,

"Mike needs some slacks and a T-shirt.  He doesn't wear jeans."

I ended the discussion by saying, "He does now."

*The turtleneck was actually made for female playscale figures, but Michael and Tyr do not know this.

  1. LOL! I don't think the conversation is over. You and your husband could do a comedy routine. I have a feeling he is going to find Michael some slacks and a T-shirt. He is way too adamant about Mike's attire. I am anticipating a follow up post about Mike's second fashion change. I like his new attire. It's good to see that he is as tall as BB2.5. She is a tad taller than the other fashionistas. So does that mean his TTL body is taller than the TTL Terrance Howard figure?

    1. Hi Vanessa,

I'm afraid this is it for Michael for now. I'd like to see him in a suit, but no time soon.

He is taller on this particular TTL body than Terrence. Not sure why Truetype made Terrence so short (see him added to the group gathered on my desk here).

Michael's knees seem a bit too flexible, however. Not sure if this is a flaw with the body I received (remember it arrived with a missing left foot) or if this particular TTL body is supposed to be as flexible.

  3. He looks good Debbie! LOL at Mr. G.'s comments. My husband also had to correct me about Michael Jordan's attire. When I had my short MJ dressed in Rocawear Darren's clothes, my husband told me "Michael Jordan would NOT wear Rocawear fashions. He has his own brand." Ok. So I dressed my tall MJ in jeans and a black shirt. I said that I wanted to get some Nikes for him to wear. My husband said "Michael Jordan would NOT wear Nikes, he wears Air Jordans." I said "What's the difference?" Why did I asked. A lengthy lesson on shoes ensued. I'm just going to put some dress shoes on MJ and call it a day. :)

    1. Roxanne - Your husband is just as funny as Debbie's husband. He's right about the shoes. You can't put Nike's on MJ. His feet would probably fall off if you did that. LOL! I see men are very sensitive about their sports figures.

    4. My three hours of sleep last night is obvious in the error-filled comments I made earlier today. The deleted comments (combined) should have read:

Hi Roxanne - Your husband seems to be a know-his sports-figures character, too, and also not shy about correcting your fashion faux pas. I guess I had better not go the Nike route for my Michael either based on your husband's assessment.

      Hi Vanessa

I guess if the "shoes" were on the other feet and our husband's tried dressing female dolls, we'd have a lot of input, too.

  5. That's neat how your husbands - DBG and Roxanne - know what MJ would wear. And they care enough to "correct" your "errors." I also love the distinction between jeans and slacks, LOL.

Congratulations on having 200 followers! Way to go!
