Barbie Best Fashion Friend Nikki is Over 2 Feet Tall!

Barbie Best Fashion Friend Nikki is over 2 feet tall (Internet-captured photo)
Have you seen her?  I was just informed by a Facebook friend about Barbie Best Fashion Friend Nikki. According to Just Play (a toy manufacturer/distributor for several major toy brands) Barbie Best Fashion Friend Nikki shipped out to Toys R Us stores in August and it is uncertain if the dolls will be sold at ToysRUs.com.

The doll is described in the image above as follows:
Standing over 2 ft tall, this is Barbie’s B.F.F Nikki at her best, never looking more beautiful or fashionable. Nikki is articulated and comes with a stylish removable fashion. Nikki comes with the hottest fashion, the most fab shoes and a brush to style her hair. Nikki's gorgeous hair is styled with a braid, and she features beautiful rooted eyelashes. Ages 3 and up.
I was told the price is around $28 to $34 dollars, but if you search eBay, you will find sellers asking double this amount!  If you want Nikki for yourself or for a little one, check your local Toys R Us stores first. The doll is not available at the store nearest me.  I am sure they will be plentiful before Christmas.

Barbie and Teresa are also included in this line.

Thanks AW for the heads up!  I am looking forward to seeing your doll's makeover after you find it.

  1. I saw her at a Costco. She looks like a cheap plastic doll. I definitely passed on it. Wasn't anything special.

    1. Thanks, Robotica. I'd still like to see it in person. Could you tell if the doll was actually articulated?

    2. It definitely wasn't articulated otherwise I would've bought it and posted pics on my blog. That would've made it interesting cuz I've never seen that before. But it would've been a lot more expensive if it was. Knees and elbows and wrists definitely couldn't bend. It looked hollow and cheap. Maybe around Christmas they'll go on sale.

    3. The description at Just Play should not indicate the doll is articulated if it is not beyond the usual areas. Thanks again!

  2. I saw them about 2 weeks ago at TRU when I went looking for Kenya dolls. They kind of startled me when I passed by and not in a good way, but not in a creepy way either. They looked ... uncomfortable and had no personalities. That's the best way I can describe them. Kind of like Stepford Wives but in doll form. I'm not a big-doll kind of person anyway, so maybe that is coloring my viewpoint. As an adult collector I would say no but a kid might enjoy the novelty.

    1. Hope you found the Kenya dolls you sought, Muff.

Stepford wives, huh? Then what is your opinion of the My Size Barbies? I have two that I have never removed from the box. They are huge, but size doesn't bother me. My issue is space. I have a friend who, until she had to move to a smaller place, had every AA MSB that had been released and some extras that she redressed.

Different tastes for different collectors is what makes the love of dolls interesting.

    2. Debbie, I've never seen (or had previously heard of) My Size Barbies. Onlyalisa's photo of one next to Friend Nikki doesn't show a face so I looked up some images on line and videos on YouTube (this one in particular was extremely smile inducing).

Hmmm. Even after viewing all that, they just aren't for me. I like a more compact sized doll and the 1:6 scale is best for me. Not too small that I'm fumbling about and not too big that I cant comfortably create an environment for them.

    3. Muff,

I understand your preference for more compact dolls. I am glad, though, that you have now been introduced to My Size Barbie, whose target market is definitely little girls.

I really enjoyed the video of the little girl being surprised with one... that was pretty classic.

  3. Love this doll! I got her Sunday at TRU! I've always been a fan of large sized dolls, I still have my, My Size Barbie from like 95! I must post Photos!
