I Finally Received an Undamaged Copeland

It is probably by pure luck that this third Misty Copeland Barbie that replaced the second one that replaced the first one arrived without damage.  As you can see in this photo, the doll's box is in the shipping box without any protection from packing materials, even though I requested extra packing materials be used for this one.  I was even placed on hold during the call while the associate said she was going to email the shipping department and request the extra packing.  Even though they did not follow through with my request, I am happy this ordeal is over.

I will continue to think twice about ordering dolls from Amazon when the condition of the boxes matters, free prime shipping or not.

  1. They sent my Platinum Label Ava Duvernay exactly like this. My box arrived in perfect condition but, yeah, no thanks to them.

    1. That is just too much craziness, Havilland. I am glad your Ava Duvernay Barbie didn't sustain any damage.

  2. The dolly gods rewarded you for being so good with your collection:-)
I can't believe they wasted your time by putting you on hold and still didn't bother to take any precautions. At this rate you were on your way to having a ballet troupe.

    1. You're right, Maricha. I have enough Misty Copeland dolls to form a trio. I am glad this saga is finally over.

    1. Hi Phyllis,

I am glad too. No, they told me to 'donate' the others.

Someone pointed out that Amazon is selling discounted Misty Copeland Barbies with a disclaimer that "the packaging might be damaged." SMH.

    2. Yes, I gave up the good fight and ordered one the other day. :) She should be here on 5/27. I ordered from Target.com. I'm hoping for a good box, because I think I want to keep her there, at least for now.

    3. I hope you receive a good box too. I haven't heard of anyone having issues with Misty Copeland boxes or dolls ordered from Target. Congrats in advance!

    4. Thank you! She arrived on the 27th as expected, and she has a good box. They wrapped the box in tissue paper.

  7. Debbie, since TheBarbieCollection site backordered my Misty yet again, I decided to order her from Amazon. I received her today and her box was perfectly undamaged! They also packed it with those inflated air packs. I did have a couple of other items shipped with her, so that might have something to do with it. I will post some pictures on my blog shortly.

    1. Hi Phyllis,

I wonder what is causing the hold up with TheBarbieCollection filling orders of the Copeland Barbie. Several others have complained about their orders also being in back ordered status. The same complaint has come from some who preordered from authorized Mattel retailers. This is so strange.

I am happy for you that you received a perfectly undamaged box and doll from Amazon. Maybe there is hope and maybe the comment to them complaining about their packing measures or lack thereof helped. I hope they keep up the good work.
