Another QueBan 1/6 BJD

Vaddon by QueBan is a 1/6 MJD BJD

I ordered a second vinyl 1/6 BJD by QueBan. This one has light blue- or aqua-rooted hair styled in two braids with bangs. Her name is Vaddon. She has the same head sculpt as the other 1/6 QueBan BJD dolls and a total of 16 joints, which includes the usual five points of articulation. Vaddon is 11 inches tall and has blue stationary eyes with synthetic fiber upper eyelashes, painted lower eyelashes, and a sprinkling of freckles across her cheeks and nose.

She was inside her box protected by a plastic shell. Her extra hands and boots were in a separate plastic bag.

The index fingers of the extra hands are curled under. All fingers are straight on the original hands.

After removing the skirt to iron down the pleats, I took a couple of snapshots of Vaddon.

The skirt was removed in this picture and in the next.

Completely dressed

Vaddon wears a black long-sleeved crop top with cutouts at the elbows, a camouflage vest, black undies, a black pleated skirt, black over-the-knee socks, and brown faux suede lace-up boots that zip closed in the back. On the Amazon website, she is described as a trendsetter; however, rebel might be a more appropriate definition.

Trendsetter: Vaddon has been very naughty since s[he] was a child and likes to cause all kinds of destruction. She often runs away from home with her friends. She wore a camouflage coat and black skirt, her best-preserved outfit.

In this close-up, Vaddon's lovely face is captured. She looks too precious to be a rebel. So in this collection, she is not.

Vaddon and my redressed Jesui display well together.

In this pose from the back, the length of Vaddon's braids and the back of her boots are illustrated.

Vaddon will not be redressed for now.

To show both dolls in their original clothing without returning Jesui to her original clothes, I added the above-combined photos of the two dolls.

  1. These are cute dolls. I like that they appear pretty solid and not as skinny fashionistas lol
I do wonder if something was lost in translation for Trendsetter to be described by the seller as “destructive” “s[he] “ “runs away” etc That sounds a lot more troubled Jmho than even rebel…But for the current crop of rebellious young people who are into post Goth dress and behaviors and bjds and the not so youngish ones who now have kids maybe that description appeals? Like “we your parents are/were like this” and the groups of inspiring friends dolls who are cute and wear pink sparkles and rescue puppies have grown boring to them…

Or I may be overthinking the whole business lol and seeing inclusion where there was only “that’s what we see on tv and the web of your kids so thought you would like it”

  2. Something did get lost in the translation. I would not consider a rebellious runaway a trendsetter. Otherwise, I do like these dolls. They are sturdy and if posed on a flat surface with the feet properly placed, doll stands are not necessary.

Their somewhat edgy outfits are probably refreshing to people who are tired of the bubblegum pink and other pastel colors used for pink-box dolls.

I must admit that I am not into "colored" hair for dolls, but Vaddon's light blue hair makes her stand out from the rest of the dolls in my small BJD collection. I might add the redhead later.

  4. The hair is rooted to the head. I did not loosen the braids.
