Ken Fashionista 130 Repaint and Redress

Ken Fashionista #130 is a darker-skinned version of Classic Cool Ken.  Like Classic Cool, #130 has molded cornrows.  Because Mattel painted these dolls' scalp the same color as the hair, I repainted the scalp to give a more realistic appearance.  Classic Cool's scalp repainting was done after the doll arrived in 2017.  I utilized free time during the 2019 holidays to repaint #130's scalp.  He was also redressed and also captured in size comparison images.  Images and captions of the repainting and redressing follow.

Ken is shown in before and after side-by-side shots that illustrate the unpainted scalp and the painted scalp from several angles.

The painted scalp provides the realism I desired. His lip color was darkened, too.

Face and Height Comparisons

This back-to-back photograph illustrates how much taller Classic Cool is than Ken #130.

A final height comparison between a Barbie of regular height (Travel Teen Nikki) and one that is petite (Cheerful Check/CeeCee) was made as shown here.  Ken #130 is about the same height as Nikki and slightly taller than CeeCee (the petite girl).

Ken Fashions

Even though one Fashion is labeled "Ken" and the other is labeled "Barbie," both fashions are Ken fashions.  

Ken #130 wears the first Ken fashion, which includes a camouflage sweatshirt, gray sweatpants that have a mock drawstring waist tie, and blue sandals.  Shown below, Ken mixed and matched this fashion with his original clothing and later with pieces from the second fashion.

Ken wears his original denim pants with the camo sweatshirt from Ken fashion #1 and the sandals from that fashion.

Here, Ken wears the camo sweatshirt with his original pants and sneakers.

Ken is now dressed in Ken fashion #2.  It includes a "New York" T-shirt with the image of a tiger.  Below the tiger are four pink roses.  Light gray sweatpants with a mock drawstring at the waist and a pair of low-top white sneakers complete this fashion which Ken later mixed and matched with other pieces of his original clothes and the first Ken fashion.

Ken wears the top from the second fashion with his original light-blue jeans and low-top white sneakers. 

The camo sweatshirt from the Ken fashion is now worn with the sweatpants and sneakers from fashion #2. 

I was somewhat confused by the box of fashion #2 being labeled "Barbie" and the flowers on the shirt.  I initially wondered if this was actually a Barbie fashion.  The shoes are marked Ken, as shown above, which confirms the fashion is Ken's.

Amazing Girls Sienna by Adora Dolls

Amazing Girls Sienna returns to share additional photos.  The first additional photo is of her body, which I had intended to include in the previous post.

Sienna's cloth mid-section is illustrated here.  The rest of her construct is vinyl including her full-vinyl arms which allows her to wear sleeveless dresses and blouses.

The vinyl used for Sienna's head is relatively soft, which allowed the use of quilting pins to pierce her ears.

The quilting pins now serve as yellow stud earrings for Sienna.

Sienna posed with American Girl Addy for a height comparison.  They are about the same height.  Addy's body might be slightly fuller than Sienna's, but they can share the same clothes.  Not shown, Sienna's boots fit Addy.

Addy agreed to allow Sienna to try on one of her custom-made sandals which fit Sienna perfectly.  Addy didn't dare allow Sienna to try on her Kente-cloth-print dress because it is very special to her.

Sienna was able to try on other fashions designed for 18-inch dolls as illustrated next.

Sienna wears a rust-colored plaid dress made for 18-inch dolls.  This dress was part of an ensemble that included a dark green knit sweater and a dark green knit hat.

Sienna wears the dress alone with ivory tights that were part of a Karito Kids fashion.  The gold slippers came with the Nathaniel doll shown here.

In this vintage picture taken of Addy during the late 1990s/early 2000s, Addy models the plaid dress with the green sweater and hat that were included with it.

I thought the above dress would be Sienna's one and only redress, but there was one more.  I recalled that Brains and Beauty Malia had been redressed a while back in an Adora Dolls fashion made for their 18-inch dolls.  I decided to try that fashion on Sienna.

Sienna looks adorable in the Adora dolls fashion which includes a tan sweater, a matching headband, red/blue/tan check shorts, and separately-sold brown lace-up boots also by Adora Dolls.

Instead of returning her to her original fashion, Malia decided to try on the plaid dress, tights, and gold shoes.  She and I both love this look on her.  Now I will have to find the green sweater and hat that came with the dress.

Sienna took one final photo with a doll that appears to have become her BFF. 

These two girls, CeeCee and Sienna, display well together.

I have not yet redressed my Herstory doll, CeeCee.  As soon as I find shoes that fit her narrow feet, she will be redressed, too.  (I believe the missing green sweater and hat are stored with my Magic Attic Keisha doll clothes.  I am thinking CeeCee can wear Magic Attic clothes and shoes.  I will soon find out.)

Christmas Doll Gifts

These three things:  Hallmark Keepsake 2019 Holiday Barbie ornament, Madame Alexander Snowman Ballerina Wendy, and Sienna an Amazon-exclusive 18-inch doll by Adora were the doll gifts I received for Christmas.

The Barbie Holiday Ornament

The 2019 Holiday Barbie Ornament is inspired by the 2019 Holiday Barbie doll.

Made of resin, the 2019 Holiday Barbie Ornament by Hallmark has molded hair and a painted-on candy-cane dress with glitter accent.  There is a red fabric skirt and a red fabric bow over the right shoulder.  Like the doll, the ornament uses the Asha head sculpt.

Snowman Ballerina Wendy

Released in 2015, Snowman Ballerina Wendy's cardboard box is shaped like a colorful snowman.

Wendy uses the dedicated African American Wendy head sculpt which was first used for Sheer Delight Wendy in 2005.  The company has not used this sculpt for African American Wendys since approximately 2016.  In 2018, they reverted to the use of the original Wendy head sculpt for both African American and Caucasian dolls.

Snowman Wendy has a black wig styled in two side ponytails with curled ends.  She has brown sleep eyes.

Snowman Wendy wears a white leotard and tutu.  The bodice has two vertical black pom-poms.  She wears a black felt top hat which has a red ribbon band.  A red flannel neck scarf, white shimmery tights, and black patent-leather boots complete her costume.

Amazing Girls Sienna

Amazing Girls Sienna is shown in her first two photos taken while still attached to the box.  Sienna's out-of-the-box photos are shown below.

Sienna is sharply dressed in a shimmery tan knit tunic worn with lined black leggings, fur-trimmed Army-green boots, and a matching fur-trimmed bubble coat.

She carries a black canvas shoulder bag that has the words, "Peace Love & Music" written in cursive on the front.

Sienna has a tan vinyl complexion, brown sleep eyes, and rooted dark brown super curly and super soft hair.

Her hair extends to her upper back in its naturally curly state; however, if stretched, it is much longer.

Sienna's coat is removable to give her another fashion look.

Sienna will be back in a separate post with more pictures.

Additional Gifts

Possible Dreams Giddyup Santa was added to my Santa display on Christmas day after I opened the beautifully wrapped package that contained it.

My new Possible Dreams Giddy Up Santa is not doll-related, but close enough to be added to this post.   I receive a new Dept. 56 Possible Dreams Santa annually from doll-friend Debra R. because she knows they are my favorite Santas to collect.  Giddy up Santa's photo and the others in this post were taken with a new camera (also a Christmas present) before I educated myself on the camera settings, which is why I added a stock photo.

Nutcrackers

These five Target-exclusive nutcrackers were also added to the Christmas table of decorations on Christmas day.

Loosely doll-related are the five African American nutcrackers that I requested my daughter buy (she had asked what I wanted for Christmas and I added these as last-minute gifts to the list).  I usually buy at least one African American Target nutcracker annually for myself, but this year I hesitated until a few days before Christmas when I looked at them once again on Target's website and decided, yeah, I think I need them and informed my daughter about this need.

The gifts received from a friend in Illinois in were beautifully wrapped with African American Santa Christmas paper.
