The One World Doll Project Announces First Order From Walmart

I have been a supporter of the One World Doll Project since day one, beginning with an interview of Stacey McBride-Irby in March 2011.  Several posts about Prettie Girls Lena and the Cynthia Bailey doll have followed.

Prettie Girls Valencia (Latina), Dahlia (South Asian), and Kimani (African) have joined Lena and Cynthia Bailey.

I recently acquired, Valencia, Dahlia, and Kimani, shown above.

I was very excited to learn about the company's most recent accomplishment:  The One World Doll Project Announces First Order From WalmartThis is major because it is no easy feat to get products on the shelves of America's largest discount department store chain.

Trent Daniel, CEO of One World Holdings, announces the Walmart deal in the following Youtube video.

Congratulations to OWDP and Stacey McBride-Irby!

  2. This is good news! The interview also said they are starting to work on other products in the line, such as accessories. So maybe this means they will introduce some clothes and shoes for the dolls and who knows what else. I wish them great success!

    1. I would like to see extra fashions and accessories, too, Phyllis. Hopefully that stated plan from 2011 still exists.

    1. That would be nice if they were made available there, Night Owl. The OWDP does ship internationally, but of course shipping is quite expensive.

  6. Thanks for sharing this news! Always better to be able to pick out the doll you want.

I created a Pinterest board for the Prettie Girls; I consider it my present contribution to the line. There are pins from your blog and others featuring these dolls. I also follow some of their Pinterest boards.

    Go, One World Doll Project!

  9. jSarie, GG - yes, it is very brilliant and awesome news, a huge feat for OWDP! Just think if they had not gone to Toy Fair, this might not have ever happened. Stepping out on faith...

Muff - Seeing the dolls in person or even online by people who might not otherwise know about their existence will definitely boost sales.

D7ana, Roxanne - You're welcome! D7ana, I have visited your Prettie Girls Pinterest board. Thank you for including links to my posts about the dolls. I hope you will add this one to the board.

  11. Thanks for the update. I was able to purchase one of the dolls at the HEB this weekend here in the Houston area. While in the doll aisle I met another lady who was contemplating buying one for her granddaughter. I gave her a brief background on the doll and she got excited about the product and bought one. She told me that hearing the "back story" was what convinced her to purchase one. I now have 3 dolls and plan on buying 2 more.

    1. You're welcome, Ollie's Dollies. It is wonderful that you were able to share the company's back story with the other shopper. Word of mouth from happy customers is an excellent marketing tool.

  12. Awesome news! Thanks for sharing. I was happy to see that Walmart didn't jack up the retail price like they have been known to do in recent years.

    1. You're welcome, Vanessa.

The Cynthia Bailey's price at Walmart was a little shocking to see, but it is the original retail price (even though that's not what I paid.)
      :-)
