Barbie Silkstone Comparisons for Maricha

Arm in arm, Lingerie Barbie #5 and City Chic Suit Barbie

I was going to add complexion comparison images to my previous post, which includes photos of City Chic Suit Silkstone Barbie.  This separate post was created instead due to the amount of photos and because comparisons were made between several dolls.

City Chic Suit's complexion was compared with the 2002 Lingerie Barbie #5 (the first AA Silkstone Barbie), with the 1959 Debut Barbie (2009), and with 2012 Fuchsia 'N Fur Francie.

2002 Lingerie Barbie dressed as a nurse (she is my perfect stand in for the 2006 Barbie Fan Club-exclusive Nurse Barbie).

Lingerie Barbie #5 and City Chic Suit

City Chic (CC) Suit's caramel complexion is slightly deeper than Lingerie Barbie #5's, but I believe if anyone wanted to use CC Suit as a body donor for Lingerie #5, they could.

1959 Debut Barbie and City Chic Suit

The complexion differences between the 1959 Debut Barbie and City Chic Suit are very subtle.

City Chic and Fuchsia 'N Fur Francie

CC Suit and Fuchsia 'n Fur Francie's complexions closely match.  Here again, if anyone wanted to articulate this Francie using CC Suit's body, they could.

Note to Maricha:  I mistakenly wrote in my comment that I own two of the Lingerie Barbie #5's. I only own one.  For some reason I had forgotten my ownership of the 1959 Debut Barbie, which is the doll that remains in her box with my one and only Lingerie Barbie being the one used to replicate the 2006 Barbie Fan Club-exclusive Nurse Barbie.

I hope this helps!

  1. Thank you so much, Debbie! :D It was so kind of you to do this so I could see what will work for my doll. (Ha, we both have the 50th, so the comparison is perfect.)
For once the fact that Mattel isn't big on diversity is working out in my favor: City Chic and 50th Anniversary can trade bodies.

    1. You're welcome. I am glad I could help and actually happy I pulled these dolls out so I could "remember" owning the 50th. How could I have forgotten such a lovely doll? Too many dolls, I guess, is the answer.

    2. There can never be too many dolls ;-)
Thanks again for taking these pictures.
The Anniversary doll really is lovely and she has gorgeous, long, thick and silky hair.

  2. The nurse is a grail of my mine. I always enjoy seeing pictures of her. She is one doll that is rarely seen on evil bay. This is good info in case I ever decide to rebody my Francie.

    1. The nurse was a grail of mine, too, G.G. and I was so disappointed that I did not have an opportunity to purchase the doll. There was just not enough to supply the demand. I remember Mattel's phone lines being inaccessible as the reason I missed ordering before the dolls sold out. So I did the next best thing: transformed my Lingerie #5 into a nurse and got that desire out of my system.
