Twinkie Dolls were on display at the Black Dolls Exhibition at The Strong National Museum of Play in Rochester, NY. from September 23, 2023, through January 7, 2024 |
The registrar of exhibitions at the New-York Historical Society, Dottie Teraberry, shared the above photo after the dolls were installed at The Strong. According to Ms. Teraberry, "The dolls formed a critical part of the 'Racial Pride and Racial Prejudice' section of the exhibition in which we discussed the role that the 'Doll Test' played in the landmark Supreme Court case, Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka."
There are countless items to collect and write about. Black dolls chose me.
