Claudette Gordon - Harlem Theater Series

Mattel-designer, Carlyle Nuera holds one of his new Barbies, Claudette Gordon, which is part of the Harlem Theater series, slated for release in September of this year.  The doll's retail price is $85. This picture does not provide the full detail of her gorgeous face, which is a new head sculpt (and a must-have for me!), the next image, however, does.

She appears to have full articulation and has a Jazz Diva Barbie flavor.  See one of the best photos I have seen thus far of her here and a couple of others of Claudette Gordon here.

I am feeling excited about this one!

  1. Oh my life, if she looks anything like the photo in real, Claudette is gorgeously stunning.

  2. I am EXCITED about this one too. I saw this doll in REAL LIFE at the 2015 National Barbie Doll Convention and yes she is THAT beautiful and yes, I told the designer Carlyle how proud I was of this concept and how I hope it is truly a success. It's REALLY that pretty in person!!!!! Kia

    1. Two would be tempting for me as well, Brini. I think one will have to do, however.

  6. She's on my wishlist. Wonder if she'll be a Barbie Direct Exclusive or open to the public? I did not join this year and would hate to miss out or be subject to secondary market.

    1. I don't think this series will be exclusive.

I didn't join the fan club last year or the year before. I only join when I know there will be club exclusives that interest me. Otherwise, if I join, and feel compelled to just buy something each quarter to cash in the rewards. I "almost" thought about joining this late in the year just to get a discount on Claudette, but that would not be cost effective since the membership is more than the one reward I could use on her purchase.

  7. Love the concept and love the doll! I now know what my quarterly reward will be used for. I even have an idea for who she will be in my stories.

    1. You're welcome GG. That's a good question. I wonder how many will be available too. I think, even at the $85 price, she will be a quick seller. I was thinking I would wait for a sale, but I am not sure that will be a good move.

    1. She does have great bone structure and reminds me of someone but I cannot put my finger on whom just yet.

  10. My doll buying hiatus is about to come to an end. I must have this one.

  11. Claudette Gordon will be a nice addition to your collection, Roxanne. I understand why a doll buying hiatus would come to a halt for her. September is just a few weeks away.
