American Girl WellieWishers

American Girls' new doll line, WellieWishers:  Two Caucasian, a Latina, Asian, and African American are included in the five-doll line.
First seen on this blog here, American Girl has now created a count-down web page for the WellieWishers' June 23, 2016, launch.  Beyond a video featuring little girls with the dolls, the site does not provide specifics such as their actual names, height, and price, but nonofficial sources indicate the African American doll's name is Kendall; they are 15-inches tall, and will cost $60.

Here is the link to the official web page, where detailed, official information will available on the launch date, June 23, 2016.

  1. Thanks for the update. They're definitely cute but isn't it strange that they're wearing rain boots but not rain coats and hats?
Still, odds are their footwear will be harder for little hands to pull off and lose, so boots are a good option.

    1. I think the boots are cute and a novel idea. I never thought about additional rain gear, Maricha. Maybe AG will sell it separately, which will be another way to generate additional revenue from this line.

It could also be that they just enjoy splashing their feet in water and the boots protect them during the process. :-)

    2. For some reason "Wellies" or cute rubber boots have been a fashion statement all by themselves even here in drought stricken California...so no need for the coat or umbrella. LOL.

    4. Sounds like fun. I never wore rain boots without my mom putting the matching hat and coat on me no matter how hot and muggy it was during or after the rain.

  2. They're a cute bunch! I wonder if they'll be similar in size to Les Cheries/Las Amigas/Hearts for Hearts/etc.

    2. I hope so, that's my favourite size for playline dolls, so I'd be happy to have more of them available. :)

  3. Yep, when I was a kid we wore the boots but not rain coats and rarely had an umbrella. The point is to splash puddles without soaking your good shoes.

  5. I wonder if they will eventually produce WellieWishes in the miniature dolls. One can hope. I would love to have them in the smaller size.
