Thrift Store Seating and Two New Shoe Packs

When purchased, I was not certain if this wicker furniture would work with playscale dolls.  At $1.99 for each piece I took a chance.

As Darla Daly and Barbie illustrate, it is perfect for them.

I might add fabric-covered cushions to the chairs and sofa later.

These two Barbie shoe/accessory packs were found at Wal-Mart recently.  In a comment to my New Wal-Mart, New Fashions post, Muff mentioned purchasing the pack that contains the black boots with mock gold buckles.  I was surprised to find it and purchased two of those in addition to the other one shown.  These were $3.97 each.  I don't know who will get an opportunity to wear these, but they'll be available when the need arrives.

  1. A woman can never have too many shoes...real or vinyl...the doll, not the shoes! LOL

    1. I agree knitmachinequeen -- never too many shoes (and preferably not vinyl shoes). :-)

  2. I like the wicker furniture and even more so that it was a thrift store find. It will look good in a patio diorama. I also like those boots.

  3. $1.99 a piece?! Well dang, that seems a lot to me but they are the perfect size and the repaint makes 'em fancy!

I agree with KMG - cant have enough shoes.

    1. Oh I know, you would have preferred to only pay $1.99 for the complete set, Muff. Maybe back in the day I could have found a price like that at this thrift store. In recent years, some of their prices have been ridiculous. I didn't mind paying this amount. I won't be painting it though.

    2. But it looks whiter in the second photo, so I thought it was painted. Must have been a lighting change.

    3. Oh... that's probably from the different lighting and different backgrounds. In the 1st picture I used the yoga mat as the background; in the second, the background is blue knit fabric. The photos were also taken on different days, in the same room, but on different days. I had to retake the 2nd photo because in the initial one (using the yoga mat) Barbie's left eye kept catching glare from the flash. I didn't check the photos before dismantling the yoga mat setup and had already switched the background to fabric to photograph taller dolls before realizing I needed retakes. Since the fabric setup was already in place, I used it for the retakes.

    1. LOL Teva! I should have put my Chynadoll Creations Subway sandwich on the table or some of the other playscale items I have from her to enhance the look, but I was too lazy. Maybe I will create a real diorama with it soon.
