  1. Fantastic, thank you so much for sharing this trailer with us. I wish I could get there and watch this movie.
Watching its trailer gave me such and nice and happy feeling. It has confronted me with the fact that there is nothing wrong with me and that there has never been anything wrong with me for loving my black dolls and for enjoying giving some to people around me. There is nothing wrong with loving dolls that look like me.
    Take care,
    Arlette

    1. You're welcome, Thammie!

I could have confirmed for you that there is nothing wrong with desiring to see yourself in the dolls you collect. I am happy you now realize there are others who share your sentiment. Everyone needs to see themselves in a positive light. Human beauty comes in all colors. If this is ever realized and accepted as fact and not questioned by those who want to deny it, the world will be a much better place.

Early on in my collecting, I was asked by another collector who was not African American or of African descent, "Do you "only" collect black dolls?" I answered with a question, "Do you "only" collect white dolls?"

Don't question my choice of collecting if you aren't prepared for me to throw the question right back at you.

  2. Great trailer that really pulls you in. Will this film travel to libraries only or do you know if it will be released on Youtube?

  3. No, I do not believe "Why Do You Have Black Dolls?" will ever be available to view in its entirety on YouTube. Their website has a purchase link for libraries and organizations to apply for purchase of one-time screening packages for special events. http://whydoyouhaveblackdolls.com/

    I would love to,own a personal copy.
