Walmart Finds: Shoes and Dolls

Barbie shoe accessory packs

In addition to the black sandals I purchased for her and the white T-strap flats that came with her original fashion, my Goddess Fashionista Barbie now has three more shoe choices.  She has my location of three shoe/accessory packs at Walmart to thank for this. They were $2.44 each.

Each pack contains one pair of flat shoes, a pair of high heels, a handbag and additional accessories, which is not bad for $2.44.  Each one is described and illustrated in individual photos after which Goddess models her new shoes:

Pale aqua sandals with mock fringe and a matching headband are featured in this shoe/accessory pack. The high heels are muted gold with matching gold shoulder bag that has mock fringe.  This pack also includes a gold beaded bracelet, which is plastic, and a shiny gold-tone mock pendant necklace.

Goddess wears a Sparkle Girlz fashion with the aqua flats and headband.

Silver ankle strap flats with closed toes, hot pink high heel sandals, silver "quilted" shoulder bag, shiny silver choker, hot pink bangle bracelet, and gray sunglasses make up this accessory pack.

Another Sparkle Girlz fashion was chosen to wear with the silver shoes, handbag, and sunglasses.

This kitty-themed accessory pack includes black ballerina-style flats with embossed floral pattern at toes, light pink high heel sandals, shiny silver cat ears headband, light pink cat pendant necklace, gray bracelet with kitten face in center, and a "purrfect" black kitten-face shoulder bag.

Goddess models the black flats, cat-faced shoulder bag, and wears the cat ears headband.  Which of the three ensembles do you think she chose to continue wearing?

Answer to the above question:
Goddess decided to wear the fashion ensemble shown in the first photo, which is actually the last one she tried on.  "We" did not think this one would be her final choice, but after she tried it on, "we" thought differently.  The colors and her deep complexion go well together.  She is back on the corner of my personal desk with the two other lovey ladies that have become her BFFs since her arrival.  See them below:

Also found at Walmart was the above set of two playscale dolls by Kid Connection, which I believe is a Walmart exclusive brand.  There were a total of three different sets, wearing similar style party dresses of different colors.  This was my first time seeing a set of two dark-skinned dolls by this company.

This photo captures their true complexion.

One doll has a light caramel complexion, the other has a dark caramel complexion.  Both have long black rooted hair.  The doll on the left has a ponytail while the other has a small top ponytail with the rest hanging loose.

One final photo taken outside the box, with the dolls still attached to the inner lining, makes them appear paler than they are because different lighting was used, but their pink shoes are visible.

Priced at $4.97, there was no way this collector of dark-skinned Barbie competitors was leaving these two lovely dolls behind.

  1. Whoa! I have never seen a non-white Kid Connection fashion doll and was starting to wonder if they made any. These girls look prettier than the usual blondes in my local Walmart.

    1. I think their faces are quite lovely Smaller Places. The old collector in me would have grabbed all styles, but these days I am trying to be good due to space limitations. But who knows what might happen on my next trip to that particular Walmart.

  2. I love that they are adding more dress/shoe fashion packs for Barbies. They are a nice treat to add to the cart that don't cost a fortune. I love the new darker skinned Kid Connection dolls-I'll have to keep my eye out for them in my local Walmart! I've only seen the Sparkle Girlz versions, but these are cuter.

    1. Farrah Lily - these packs are nice, inexpensive extras that can be mixed and matched.

The Kid Connection dolls are more appealing to me than the Sparkle Girlz because they do not have over-sized heads. I will be so happy when that trends fades.

  3. My vote is that Goddess chose the last ensemble with the cute cat purse. She looks great in all of them.

  4. I chose the last ensemble because it makes her look playful in a sexy way. Every time I go to Wal-Mart I'm in search for the single packs because I would love to have them all.

    1. I hope you are able to find the accessory packs, Kat. I had been looking for them during trips to another Walmart and specifically the Live, Love, Laugh blouse without success. We shopped at a newer Super Walmart recently where the shoe packs were found. Still no LLL blouse, but I'll find it eventually.

Thanks for letting me know which ensemble you think Goddess chose to wear. I think the cat-themed items are really cute, especially the shoulder bag. As I indicated to GG, I will update this post with a final photo.

  6. Your Goddess doll looks amazing redressed like that! I redressed mine, too. She's in a cotton dress with roses all over it. She wore it just to have her photo taken, but I don't think she'll be giving the dress back anytime soon. ;) http://sarahplaysdolls.blogspot.com/2015/07/new-dolls-barbie-fashionistas.html

    1. I took a look at your Naomi and Tyler. They both look lovely in their new dresses. I look forward to seeing their hair after your rerooting is complete.

  7. Even though she didn't ultimately choose it, I like the cat collection the best. It's playful and cute!

I saw those Kid Connection dolls and for some reason they are so heavy! I'm used to light weight, hollow clones but the KC girls felt like they had meat on their bones.

    1. She'll get to wear the cat accessories but with something else later. Right now I'm loving the colors of the other fashion.

Their sturdiness is another thing I like about the Kid Connection dolls.

  8. Goddess looked great in all three outfits. I have two of the three packs, and haven't touched them since I showed them. I need to revisit them. I love the Kid Connection dolls. I haven't seen this pack. The sculpt looks like the old Mattel Teresa sculpt.

    1. It's good that you have two of the three shoe/accessory packs, Vanessa. I am still on the look out for the Live Love and Laugh top, but refuse to pay $7 plus dollars, plus shipping for it online. Hopefully it will show up soon.

I'm a sucker for a cute face and the Kid Connection dolls certainly have one.
