Who's That Lady?

Who's that lady? Who's that lady?
Beautiful lady, who's that lady?
Lovely lady, who's that lady?
Real fine lady, who's that lady?

Hear me callin' out to you
'Cause it's all that I can do
Your eyes tell me to pursue
But you say look yeah but don't touch, baby
Nah, nah, nah don't touch

Who's that lady? Who's that lady?
Sexy lady, who's that lady?
Beautiful lady, who's that lady?
Real fine lady, who's that lady?

I would dance upon a string
Any gift she'd wanna bring
I would give her anything
If she would just do what I say
Come 'round my way baby, shine my way

Who's that lady? Who's that lady?
Beautiful lady, who's that lady?
Lovely lady, who's that lady?
Real fine lady, who's that lady?
I would love to take her home
But her heart is made of stone
I would keep on keepin' on
If I don't she'll do me wrong
Do me wrong, yeah

Prettie Girls Lena is styling and profiling.

This lady is Prettie Girls Lena wearing a Stardoll by Barbie dress and shoes.  The shoes fit!

I was determined to find Lena something to wear to show off her lovely curves.  Her high-waist pants don't do her body justice.

Lena tried on several Barbie dresses and dresses made for Barbie that did fit her, but her 1-inch feet are too long and too wide for any shoes on hand that coordinate with the dresses she can wear.

Then I remembered the one Stardoll fashion that Kayla (with a LIV body) was wearing.  It fits Lena like it was made for her probably because of the stretch fabric of the dress.*

Doesn't she look fab-u-lous?  Lena's "business girl who loves red" persona remains intact.

~~~
*I am not certain that other Stardoll fashions will fit Lena or the other Prettie Girls.  I no longer have my Stardoll to measure that doll's hip circumference to compare with Lena's.  Getting fashions to accommodate Lena's lower curves will be tricky if the fabric does not stretch, but her breasts and waist are average (actually her breasts are small).
I hope separates with fashionable shoes are forthcoming from The One World Doll Project for the Prettie Girls dolls.  Lena's body craves leggings and other form fitting fashions.  Do be aware that her molded-on panties have a ridged edge, which shows like a true pantie-line through form fitting clothes.
My Stardoll
Vanessa, of Fashion Dolls at Van's Doll Treasures, has shared how much she enjoys the Stardoll website where members can design their very own MeDoll and create the virtual doll's wardrobe. I promised Vanessa that I would try the site.  I finally did a few weeks ago.
I created my own MeDoll with an attempt to have her resemble me.  I have not created a fashion wardrobe. I have also not decorated her various rooms. If I were interested in fashion and design, this site would probably enthuse me as much as it does others; and if indulging in these design activities were free, I might be more inclined to spend time at the site. However, Starcoins and Stardollars are required to purchase the more desirable items. I do have the 100 Stardollars that came with the purchase of my three-dimensional Stardoll; however, I have no immediate plans to spend this cybermoney.
I did promise Vanessa that I would share my MeDoll, which is the purpose of this blog. I thought since I shared my young Debbie paper doll two days ago, that today's blog would fulfill my promise to Vanessa.
So here she is:
We are definitely not twins, but she is as close to resembling me as I could achieve using the limited face shapes, skin tones, eyes, eyebrows, noses, mouths, and hairstyles available at the site.    What she lacks is personality.  Not that I have a lot of it, but she has none.  She also does not have the natural coarser, curlier texture of my hair.  My MeDoll is missing one of my two pairs of black framed eyeglasses, because she has 20/20 vision.  I certainly do not.  I've worn glasses since I was the age of my young Debbie paper doll.  Back then I did not wear them all the time, but now I do, sometimes even when I sleep.   She has thick eyebrows.  Mine used to be, but they are thinner, a sign of "maturity."  Also missing is the gray hair that frames my face and the years that came with it -- I know she wants that; she wants to wear eyeglasses 24/7, too.
So add in a little personality, coarser/curlier hair salted with the gray that I recently stopped coloring, about 20+ more years (she looks 30ish), corrective lenses for severe astigmatism, thinner eyebrows, and my MeDoll and I could be twins.
:-)
Fellow bloggers/readers, have you stardolled yourself?  If not, try it; and please share your MeDoll on your blog.
AA Stardoll by Barbie My Review
African American Stardoll by Barbie
As is routine with me, I always take photos of new dolls in their arrival state, thus the in-box photo shown above of  the African American Stardoll by Barbie.
Here's a head shot of her in the box.    I think she's lovely.
After removing her from the box, I examined the frozen-in-place legs. They do not move. Her arms do move forward and backward, but they are also basically frozen in an at-the-side position.
Here's an out-of-the box, full-length photo.
If you are looking to add a lovely fashion doll to your collection that has separately sold fashion accessory packs, you will enjoy this doll. If you prefer articulated dolls, able to pose in multiple positions, Stardolls are not for you. You can, however, do as others are doing: purchase the doll and rebody with an articulated body such as LIV's Alexis to match this particular doll's complexion. A Barbie Fashionista (specifically Artsy for this doll) should work, too.   I caution that I have not tried either body.  Initially my plan was to transfer my doll's head to a Fashionista body, but I am putting that plan temporarily on hold for now.
Cons:
  • Non-articulated body.
  • The doll cannot sit.
  • Stardolls cannot wear Barbie fashions or shoes.
This is not a true con, but I repurposed the vinyl rose hair adornment.  (See the collage image below.)
Pros:
  • Reasonably priced at $19.99, but on sale for $16.99 (today is the last day for the sale) at Toys R Us
  • Stands a full 12 inches with shoes on
  • Lovely face
  • Rooted hair
  • Rooted eyelashes
  • Decent fashion and shoes
  • Inclusion of a doll stand -- she needs it!
  • Nice, shapely legs
Who She Favors:
Many have compared this doll's facial sculpt to celebrities such as Solange Knowles and her more famous sister, Beyoncé. In my opinion, she is a cross between Beyoncé and Kim Kardashian, more Beyoncé about the eyes and nose with Kim K.'s mouth. Please look at the collage I created and let me know which "star" this Stardoll resembles more to you.
