Final Shasarignis Fashion Showcase

This is the fourth and final post that showcases doll fashions by Shasarignis. Recall that the doll dressmaker donated several of her hand-sewn fashions. The links to the other three blog posts are at the end of this post. 

A beige linen-look belted coat, a pink two-piece skirt suit, a gray and black houndstooth jacket, and dark beige pants are the featured fashions by Shasarignis.

This post also features an additional white dress with a peasant neckline and an elasticized waist that fits a 16-inch doll.

The last of the playscale fashions are modeled by the lovely ladies below.

Barbie Fashionista #125, Fashionista #91 (Varsity Plaiditude), and Barbie Basics Model No. 4 are clothed in fashions designed by Shasarignis.

The roomy linen-look full-length coat is belted at the waist and also has belt loops. It can be worn alone or over a dress or pants.

Fashionista 91 looks elegant in this pink skirt suit with three vertical buttons on the top and side pleats on the skirt.

Barbie Basics Model No. 4 looks stylish in a gray and black houndstooth double-breasted jacket and tan pants. 

For the white peasant dress, Essential Lizette Dionne was a perfect choice.

With her orange mesh gypsy headscarf and peach high heels, Lizette wears this dress well.

My sincere gratitude goes out to Shasarignis for graciously donating these well-made (sewn completely by hand) doll clothes! My dolls appreciate you, too.

Hand-Sewn Fashions by Shasarignis Continued

A fiery-red pantsuit, a sexy black top and skirt ensemble, a collared body suit worn with denim shorts, and another hand-sewn fashion by Shasarignis are featured in this blog post. Recall that she sews completely by hand without the use of a sewing machine. 

This photo captures a two-piece pants fashion, a wet-look top and skirt; a white bodysuit and denim shorts.

The models are Made-to-Move Barbie, So in Style Grace, and Janay.

The two-piece red pants ensemble is a nice fit on Made-to-Move Barbie. The pants are tapered at the waist and have a back snap closure.

Grace stuns in the black wet-look fashion. Both pieces snap together at the back.

The collared white bodysuit, which can be worn with other pieces (such as the black skirt above), is paired with cuffed denim shorts. See a doll on Shasarignis' blog model this blouse with the black skirt here).

A playful Pierrot fashion includes a loose-fitting top and wide-legged pants.

Barbie Looks #2 models the Pierrot fashion, the top of which includes two vertical black yarn pom-poms and a ruffled collar.

Impressive Fashions by Shasarignis

Sewing was never an acquired talent for me. The extent of my sewing is hemming and mending by hand. To machine sew requires skill. To sew garments by hand with such precision that they appear machine sewn is skillful genius that few people possess.

Shasarignis is among those who can sew by hand with such precision.

Recently, I received several samples of her designs for mostly playscale dolls that I will feature in a few blog posts. This is the first of the planned posts.

Exercise leotards, headbands, leggings, and open-finger gloves are shown here.

These three outfits and the silver lamé bodysuit and leggings in the photo immediately below rewind back to the 1980s "Let's Get Physical" era when donning exercise leotards, leggings, headbands, and wristbands and/or fingerless gloves was the trend.

These dolls model four different bodysuits and accessories.

Fab Fringe Tall Barbie models the pink stripe bodysuit and lavender mesh top, fingerless gloves, and leggings while Janay models the pink bodysuit worn with a Barbie logo'd top, headband, and leggings.

This close-up of the fingerless gloves illustrates the thumb section they include.

Emoji Fun Barbie wears the silver lamé bodysuit and leggings. A rope-belted yellow bodysuit and matching headband are modeled by Teen Nikki.

Many of the pieces from Shasarignis can be mixed and matched. For example, the pale lavender mesh top can be worn with the silver lamé bodysuit or the pink bodysuit as illustrated in the next two photos.

These two bodysuits can also be worn with other Shasarignis fashions as illustrated next. 

The pink bodysuit can be worn with a pink pantsuit sewn by Shasarignis (see it modeled a few pictures below). The silver bodysuit pairs well with silver lamé pants, but the pants also have a separate strapless top as illustrated next.

A strapless top, modeled below, was made to be worn with silver lamé pants.

Fab Fringe wears the silver lamé pants ensemble. (These pants can be worn with the silver lamé bodysuit, but that combination is not shown here.)

The pink pantsuit and pink bodysuit are modeled by Janay, who holds a Barbie Hello Kitty shoulder bag and wears black ankle boots.

Still wearing the pink pantsuit and body suit, Janay went for the monochromatic look by adding pink high-heel sandals and discarding the Hello Kitty bag.

This silver lamé gown is beautiful.

The final fashion piece in this post is a silver lamé strapless gown modeled above by Barbie Looks Model 10. Doesn't she look stunning?

I appreciate the attention to detail in these fashions. The use of snaps, hook-and-eye closures, and even zippers makes them look like mini replicas of adult fashions and very reminiscent of the 1960s Barbie fashions I owned as a child. None of these pieces use Velcro! 

The Shasarignis label adds a special distinguishing feature to these fashions.

Several of the pieces bear the Shasarignis label, too, which adds to their appeal.

Additional Shasarigns designs will be the focus of subsequent blog posts. Stay tuned.

Cute Redress for ZiZi

Light blue maxi-length halter dress by Laylee M Doll Clothes

Instagramer, Laylee M Doll Clothes posted pictures of one of her dolls modeling this image-graphic halter dress.  I didn't know which of my dolls would have the opportunity to wear it.  All I knew is that I wanted one. 

After it arrived, several ladies argued over it and were actually given an opportunity to try it on.  Ultimately, because of the wider fit at the hips, Curvy Fashionista ZiZi (Zig and Zag) won the "who gets to wear it" debate. 

ZiZi Models the Dress

Dress graphics include several fashionable women with an African American woman on the front center.  Images of hairpins, nail polish, and lipstick are included in the graphics. 

ZiZi wears black strappy sandals and holds a gray tote.

She wears her black sunglasses on her head and completes the look with light blue hoop earrings.  (I painted the originally gold-tone earrings with light blue fingernail polish.  A woman must coordinate, you know.)

A seated brunette, a blonde, and another African American woman are visible on the back of the dress as illustrated here and in the final photo.

ZiZi looks fabulous in this very well-made dress that shipped free!
