Collectible Cushions

Keepsake Novelty Pin Cushion by Dritz
I found this chair-shaped keepsake novelty pin cushion by Dritz at Tuesday Morning for $5.99.  The orange, animal-print upholstery attracted my attention.  Even though I do not sew, I purchased it to perhaps allow one of my smaller dolls to use as seating.

If used for its intended purpose, it has a cushioned seat and a pillow to "cushion" pins.

The seat also lifts up for storage.

It's the perfect size for Only Hearts Club Sydney, but...

...Briana Joy likes it, too!

(Watch out for those pins, Girls!)

  1. Love the colors on this one. I've seen the larger sized ones, but not this size. Of course I've banned myself from all fabric stores, so that's probably why.

    1. Since peach is my favorite color and this orange was close to it, I couldn't leave it there.

I can imagine that someone as crafty as you are, Vanessa, would try to curtail their spending by limiting their visits to craft stores. Tuesday Morning, however, would be an exception since their sewing and crafts section is pretty limited.

    2. I am never tempted to look at the sewing section at TMs. I head straight to the toy section and maybe I will hit the kitchen section. Then I am out.

  2. Hey that is a really good price! They normally run about 15 dollars and don't come with a pillow.

    Van, you have banned yourself...why?

    1. Hi Ms. Leo,

Wow... this was a good price. The suggested retail on the Tuesday Morning price tag read $10.99. They had one other white one that had a large floral pattern, but I liked the more subtle look of the one I purchased.

    2. Ms. Leo - If you saw my fabric stash, you would not even ask that question. I am as addicted to fabric as I am to dolls. Much easier to say no to fabric, though.

  4. I love the color! You really scored with the price of this one. I have never seen the furniture price this low unless I had a coupon and it was still higher. Lol! Congratulations on getting it.

  5. Love the colors! It makes me think of having a cold orange juice while sitting on porch steps soaking in the morning sunshine while a kitty cat plays at your feet. Hmm - I think I might need to visit the old homestead for a bit. All my country keeps leaking out, lol.

  6. Thanks, GG and Muff. Now I am really glad I purchased it (based on the regular price). I won't be keeping it though.

LOL @ Muff. The old homestead sounds like a really nice place to kick up your heels and unwind, especially after a good old homestead-cooked (by someone else who is not a stranger in the kitchen) meal. I'll take a tall glass of lemonade with my plate.

  8. I'm an avid collector of tiny pillows (for dolls) and will have to look out for more doll furniture, since my office is now full of doll pillows but no chairs for my doll to sit on :D
