Jobs' Apple-inspired Doll Accessory

Barbie Basics Look No. 04, Collection 002

Solely for the shoes, I purchased Barbie Basics Look No. 04 from Collection 002. I wanted the shoes, the gray boots specifically, for Basic Model 17, who can be seen here styling and profiling different looks from this accessory pack. (He's still wearing his gray boots.)

While he has never "used" it, the accessory pack purchased specifically for Model 17 includes what appears to be an Apple-inspired iPhone (seen in the above image next to the black loafers; click to enlarge the picture).  The females here, like me, have not upgraded their cell phones to smartphones.

Are there dolls in your collection with similar electronic devices, inspired by any one of the many created by the late Steve Jobs (1955-2011)?

  1. Sigh. Now I really, really want this accessories set for my guys. Footwear and electronics? Where else but Mattel, lol.

    Thanks for the lovely photo.

  2. Hi D7ana,

    Yes, where else but Mattel?

The accessory pack also includes a male fashion magazine. The oversized knit hat was another reason I wanted it.

  4. I have this set and I love it. I have not used it but I think now I am really gonna put it to use on one of my guys. I got the package you sent and just love my tee shirt. My husband already put it in a frame and hung it over my work area. Thank you so much for the extra gift. Stay tuned on my blog site for the transformation of one of the lovely ladies :)

  6. I missed out on this set, but I did get the ladies accessory set with the same phone. Nikki was the first to use it when she couldn't reach Darius. Several women have used it since then. I also have Toy Story 1/6 scale toys and Steve Jobs was the brains behind this as well.

  7. I missed out on the ladies' set. Glad you didn't allow it to slip away from you Vanessa.

Didn't know Jobs was the mastermind behind the Toy Story 1/6 scale toys. Such brilliance.

  8. Jobs was the reason Pixar was such a success and Toy Story movies were a result of that. The documentary is on Netflix.
