Male on Demand (MOD), African American 1 (screen-captured image) from Herobuilders.com
MOD, AA1 dressed (screen-captured image)
Using their online tool, just for kicks (I did not complete the order), I dressed African American 1 (without sunglasses) in a basic white T-shirt, denim jeans, and sneakers. The final price came to $37.80 without shipping.
Not a bad concept, but the head sculpts are rather crude and the clothing choices very limited.
Here you can make a male action figure on demand for yourself and order, or not.

I sure would like to see what the finished product looks like. It's a little hard to imagine from what they provide on the scteen.
ReplyDeleteI put a black cap on the figure I toyed around with, but removed it because he looked like a criminal.
ReplyDeleteI purchased a Condoleezza Rice figure from Herobuilders.com several years ago for a friend who collects celebrity dolls. It actually looked like Condi and the quality was good. The only thing I disliked were the Herman Monster, orthopedic-looking, molded-on shoes they gave her. So not cute.

I picked out that same black stocking cap. What's wrong with us? I take it you don't have a picture of Condi? Or have you already blogged about it?
ReplyDeleteLOL... scary, I guess.
ReplyDeleteI do have a picture of Condi. I used it in my second book. I haven't included her on my blog probably because she's long gone and technically not part of my collection. But I'll do a quick blog about her later this afternoon.

Correction: Condi's picture is in my third (recently released) book. I will still share the image shortly.
