On January 19, 2011, TonnerDirect.com had a one-day sale. Princess Tiana was marked down from $199 to $60. After spending several minutes on the traffic-filled website, I was finally able to complete my order.
The doll arrived within a week, but I did not remove her from the shipper until last weekend when I photographed her and realized the reason I did not purchase at retail.
It's those eyes... those oversized, fairy-looking eyes
His point is valid because my other Princess Tiana dolls have the same oversized, fairy/pixie-looking eyes. But there's something about this doll and these eyes that bothers me.

I got her during the sale also. I must admit I agree totally with your comments about the eyes.. I love the dress and everything else , but those eyes are awful.I wish they weren't so large. I understand the fairytale look, but they seem out of place. If you repaint please post pics....
ReplyDeletesonefellis: I'm glad it's not just me. I keep trying to like her as is, but those eyes get in the way. I agree... it's the size that makes them overbearing. The only thing I see when I look at her otherwise lovely face are those eyes. I'll share pictures if I attempt to change them.

Oh goodness! I love her eyes, they are just gorgeous to me! They remind me of my daughter's big brown eyes.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you are pleased with Tonner's Tiana, Margaret.
